Fickle Fasion

Fickle fashion - there are always repeats and "bring backs" when it comes to fashion. Most of the time I do not like this too much (um, the 90s were bad enough the first time, do we really need to repeat them?). But some of the things i've found online recently have been some nice repeats.

I'm loving these two shirts. They're girly, frilly, and romantic. But at the same time, the necklines look a lot like men's cravats, stocks, and neckties from the 1700s and 1800s.

There also seems to be a return of some of the 1890s sleeves *swoons at the thought* Who cannot love the leg o' mutton sleeves of the 1890s, especially if they have ever read Anne of Green Gables?!?

those sleeves just make my heart sing. Same with yours, right?

and now for a new version of an even older sleeve:

Doesn't that just make you happy inside? the fact that fashion designers really are looking to the past for inspiration.

And these two are just pretty :) the left has some 20s chic going on while the right one seems to be a mixture of a 90s sundress and something from the 30s or 40s

*all the pictures of the modern fashions are from either Ralph Lauren or Rugby
